About Us#

I’m Justin Eggar. My wife Katlyn and I have spent a combined 20+ years in insurance distribution, building agencies from scratch, scaling operations, developing producers, and learning a lot of hard lessons along the way.

I started my first agency in 2011 out of a building that used to be a candy store in Geneva, Illinois. No book of business, no clients, no idea what I was doing. I figured it out the hard way, which turned out to be the only way that actually sticks.

Since then I’ve built on both the captive and independent sides of the carrier-agency relationship. I ran one of the highest-producing Allstate agencies in the country out of roughly 10,000 agencies. I later pivoted to independent, built agencies there, and founded a network. Some of that went very well. Some of it didn’t. I shut down a startup when it wasn’t working. That one hurt.

Katlyn brings deep experience in producer development, learning and development, and operational design across both captive and independent models. Together we’ve written tens of millions in premium, hired and trained producers, built systems that worked (and systems that didn’t), and seen the carrier-agency relationship from every angle.


What This Site Is#

Everything here comes from operating experience, not theory. The math is real. The failures are real. The recommendations are things we’d actually do, or did do, not things that sound good in a slide deck.
